How we work
Editorial and Medical Review Policy
This page explains how Rahama Wellness Center creates, reviews and corrects the health information published on this website, and who is answerable for it.
What This Policy Covers
This policy applies to every page on this site that carries health information: the service pages, the answers in our FAQs, the About page, and any article or resource we publish. It sets the standard those pages are held to, and it is the standard you can hold Rahama Wellness Center to.
It does not cover the clinical advice you receive in a consultation. Nothing on this website is a diagnosis or a treatment plan, and no page here replaces speaking with a clinician who knows your history. If you are in crisis, call the us rather than reading on.
How Do We Create Our Content?
Health content here is researched from published clinical sources, drafted, and then read and approved by a person before it is published. Nothing goes from research straight to a live page.
Whatever tools are used along the way, a human decides what is published and is answerable for it. We do not claim that every word on this site was written by a doctor, because that would not be true of a website of this kind, and an overstatement here would undermine the parts of this policy that matter.
How Do We Review Health Content?
When a page on this site says it has been medically reviewed, it means a clinician registered with their Nigerian professional body has read it, checked its clinical statements against current guidance, and either approved the page or sent it back to be corrected. That happens before publication, not after.
A reviewer can reject a page outright. Where a claim cannot be supported by a source we are willing to cite, the claim is removed rather than softened.
Where we are today: our named medical reviewer is being appointed, and their name, role and registration number will be published in this policy and on the pages they sign off. Until then, treat the health information on this site as general information rather than reviewed clinical guidance, and call us if you need an answer about your own care.
Where Does Our Information Come From?
We work from primary sources: peer-reviewed research, recognised clinical bodies such as the World Health Organization, and Nigerian authorities including the Federal Ministry of Health and the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria.
Where a page makes a clinical claim, the source is linked from that page, so you can check it without taking our word for it. We do not cite other clinics' marketing pages, content farms, or articles that carry no author and no source of their own.
How Do We Keep Content Up to Date?
Pages carrying health information show the date they were last reviewed, and they are updated when the guidance behind them changes.
That date changes only when the content has actually changed. A page nobody has revised keeps its original review date, however old that makes it look. A date refreshed to appear current tells a reader nothing, and on health information it is worse than useless: it is a claim of recent scrutiny that never happened.
How Do We Handle Corrections?
If you find something on this site that is wrong, out of date, or misleading, tell us at [email protected]. Quote the page and the sentence if you can.
We check the report against the source. If the page is wrong we correct it and update its review date. If the page is right, we will tell you why and, where the confusion was ours, make the wording clearer.
If the issue is urgent and concerns your own care or someone else's safety, call us instead of emailing. A mailbox is the wrong channel for that.
Who Reviews Our Content
Our named medical reviewer is being appointed. When they are, this section will carry their full name, their role, and their registration number, so you can check them against the register yourself. We would rather leave this section honest and empty than fill it with a name that means nothing.
