About Rahama Wellness Center

Rahama Wellness Center is a licensed mental health, rehabilitation and wellness facility in Sabon Lugbe, Airport Road, Abuja, Nigeria.

In short

What Is Rahama Wellness Center?

Rahama Wellness Center is a licensed mental health, rehabilitation and wellness facility at Plot 28, House 1, Okin Saeed Street, Sabon Lugbe, Airport Road, in Abuja, FCT, Nigeria. It opened in August 2025 and provides addiction recovery, psychiatric and psychological care to individuals and families across the FCT.

The centre treats depression, anxiety disorders, post-traumatic stress, grief and bereavement, substance use disorders including alcohol, cannabis, tramadol and codeine, relationship and family difficulties, and adolescent mental health challenges. Most care is outpatient, so people attend scheduled sessions in Lugbe and carry on with work, study and family life. Clients travel to us from Gwarinpa, Wuse, Maitama, Asokoro, Garki and Kubwa as well as Lugbe itself.

Our purpose

Why the Centre Exists

In much of Nigeria, a person in crisis is sent everywhere except to a clinician. Families carry the weight privately, treatment starts years late, and the words used for mental illness make asking for help feel like an admission of failure. Rahama Wellness Center exists to shorten that distance: to put licensed, confidential care within reach of families in Abuja, and to make asking for it ordinary.

That purpose shapes practical choices. Our phone line is free, confidential and open around the clock, because crises rarely wait for office hours. Most programmes are outpatient, so treatment fits around work and school rather than removing someone from both. Families are treated as part of the recovery rather than as visitors to it. And care respects the culture, faith and background a person brings with them, which is the difference between a clinic someone attends once and one they come back to.

How we work

How Does Rahama Wellness Center Treat People?

Treatment at Rahama Wellness Center is evidence-based, which means the therapies offered are the ones with published trial support for the condition being treated. Cognitive behavioural therapy, family and marital counselling and structured addiction recovery are the mainstays. These are among the approaches the World Health Organization recommends for depression, anxiety and substance use disorders in its mhGAP Intervention Guide.

Two things sit alongside the clinical work. Families are involved deliberately, because relapse and recovery both happen at home rather than in a consulting room. And care is culturally grounded: sessions are held in the language and the frame of reference a client actually lives in, and a person's faith and background are worked with rather than around.

The four steps from first call to aftercare

  1. Step 1: Confidential first contact

You call us or send a message. Nothing is recorded on a public file, and you are under no obligation to book.

  2. Step 2: Clinical assessment

A licensed clinician takes your history, your current symptoms and your circumstances, and forms a working diagnosis.

  3. Step 3: Your personalised plan

You agree a plan together: the therapy involved, how often you attend, who else is included, and what progress should look like.

  4. Step 4: Ongoing support

Treatment is reviewed as you go, and aftercare continues once the structured programme ends.

Who runs the centre

Our Clinical Leadership

Every clinician here is licensed, supervised and accountable to a professional body.

Our clinical leadership profiles are being added. Each entry needs the clinician's full name, credentials, registration number and their own signed approval before it is published, so this section stays empty rather than carrying a placeholder. Call us and we will tell you exactly who would be assessing you.

Licensing

Credentials, Licensing and Accreditation

FCT HSES registration number

Medical staff at Rahama Wellness Center are registered with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria, and every other clinician with the Nigerian body that regulates their own profession. Registration is a legal requirement to practise here, and you are entitled to ask any clinician for their number before you book. We will give it to you.

The premises

What Happens When You Visit

The centre is at Plot 28, House 1, Okin Saeed Street, Sabon Lugbe, Airport Road, in Abuja. It sits inside the residential streets of Lugbe rather than on the main road, and it is within reach of Gwarinpa, Wuse, Maitama, Asokoro, Garki and the rest of the FCT.

Visits are by appointment, which means you are expected and there is a clinician with time set aside for you. Bring any previous prescriptions or discharge notes if you have them. If you are coming with a relative, come together: families are part of how we work, and there is a place for them in the parts of the conversation the client wants them in.

What you say in a session stays in the session. Confidentiality is not a courtesy here, it is a clinical and legal obligation, and the limits on it are explained to you before you start rather than buried in a form.

Literally the best wellness center in Abuja 🫡 Honestly? This place delivers. The staffs know what they’re doing, the environment feels safe, and the patients actually get real care, not vibes and guesswork. They handled crises smoothly, stayed calm, and treated everyone with dignity. If you’re looking for a mental health facility that actually tries, this is the one.
